一：by turns & in turn

1. by turns 意为“轮流”、“交替”。如：

We did the work by turns. 我们轮流做这项工作。

2. in turn 意为“依次”。如：

We will cross the bridge in turn. 我们将依次过桥。

They answered the teacher’s questions in turn. 他们依次回答老师的问题。

二：turn down & turn up

1. turn down 表示“关小”(收音机等的.音量)，turn up 表示“开大”(收音机等的音量)，是一组反义词。如：

The TV is pretty loud. Can you turn it down a little? 电视机声音太大了，能关小一点吗?

I can’t hear the radio very well; could you turn it up a bit? 收音机我听不太清楚，你把它开大一点行吗?

2. turn down 还可表示“拒不接受或采纳”。如：(from )
